Brief Personality: fiercely independent, playful with and protective of the people she trusts. She makes diaries of what she's done, addressing them to her dead grandfather, and has the spirits of the forest inside her; as a result, she can seem a little off-kilter. She acts brash and fearless; while it's possible to get her to show fear, she does have a sense of fearlessness that's hard to overcome. | |
| Brief History: Rosa's the last of her tribe left, a Native American from 2080 Brazil where the Amazon forest has been destroyed and turned to desert. When the last of her tribe left for Rio, she and her grandfather, the last Wiseman, remained; when he died, Rosa took that as her cue to 'find the future', hunting the werewolves that they'd heard howling on the night.
The future came in the form of a red-haired youth she mistook for a European; one Vislor Turlough. The two of them struck out for the ranch where the Doctor was heading, but were attacked by werewolves along the way. Rosa took out several with her silver knife before being overcome and delivered to the matriarch as a gift from a potential suitor. The Doctor rescued her and Turlough, and the three of them went to Rio in an attempt to stop Pieter Stubbe, the first werewolf, from causing the destruction of all the werewolves through his hubris and inability to change as times required it. Tricking him into the TARDIS was enough to ensure that he was weak enough for them to handle, as werewolves cannot leave the earth, but they had a dilemma; he wouldn't be safe, roaming free. So Rosa put him inside the forest in her head, where the spirits could keep an eye on him, and bade Turlough and the Doctor farewell. |
