Brief Personality: More mature and steadier than TW!Jack. He's learned to be comfortable with himself. Still flirts a lot - it's second nature - and likes to have people around, but still isn't great at actually connecting with them. Still very secretive about his past. And currently feeling a little conflicted due to having finally reached his 'home' century and discovered that after all those years of wanting to go home, it's not the same as he remembered and it's not actually home anymore. | |
| Brief History: As canon up to the end of LotTL. After that, Jack just stayed with Torchwood in Cardiff. He's managed to keep Torchwood relatively small and manageable, but it's still grown to 30 people instead of just five. Torchwood has been keeping an eye on the Time Agency ever since its inception, and is currently engaged in surreptitiously making sure it doesn't gain too much power.
He obtained a new wrist computer with a working vortex manipulator as soon as the Time Agency developed them, and used it to jump ahead to the fifty-first century to get one like he had originally. He could have skipped ahead and got a better model, but he knows his way round this one. There's a certain amount of sentimentality there too. He hasn't, however, done a lot of time-travelling. He takes off occasionally, just for a break from the monotony of linear life, but he always comes back to the same point. He considers himself a sort of self-appointed guardian of the human race. He's also been visited occasionally by the Doctor (always the same regeneration - the tall, thin one with the mad hair), and has gone off on adventures with him, but again he always returns to his beloved Torchwood. For the last twenty years, he's also been keeping a discreet eye on a certain boy named Brant... He's changed his name a lot of times over three millennia, to avoid attracting too much attention. He always keeps the 'Captain' part, though. He's also had to change the way he dresses, a bit, since the RAF greatcoat did eventually wear out, long before he regained the ability to time-travel to get a new one. And real wool would attract far to much notice in the fifty-first century. So he varies his outfit more, these days, but it always involves plenty of layers and usually a long, dark coat. |
