Brief Personality: Buffy used to be a leader amongst girls Ð very popular, very fashionable, always with the right boy etc. She's had to tone that down a lot since becoming the Slayer, but bits of it still resurface. She's bright and inventive. She's fiercely protective of her friends. She pushes back hard against authority figures, including her Watcher. | |
| Brief History: Buffy discovered she was a Slayer at the age of 15 when this weird, stuffy British guy came up to her as she sat on the steps outside her school and told her it was her destiny to fight vampires. And other demons and nasty creatures.
Shortly after that, Buffy's parents split up and she and her mother, Joyce, moved from LA to Sunnydale, a small town a couple of hours away. On Buffy's first day at Sunnydale High School, she not only discovered vampires in the school but that her new Watcher, Rupert Giles, was already installed as the school librarian. She soon picked up new friends in Willow Rosenberg and Xander Harris and the four of them became the core of the group which became known as the Scooby gang, or Scoobies. She also met Angel, a vampire who'd been cursed by gypsies and had his soul restored as a punishment, so that he would grieve for all the deaths he'd caused. They fell in love, but when they consummated their relationship (on Buffy's 17th birthday, after a long night of thinking they'd be separated for months) Angel achieved perfect happiness and the curse was broken. He lost his soul and reverted to his previous evil persona of Angelus. He teamed up with his old friends Spike and Drusilla and attempted to wake the demon Acathla who would suck the world and everyone on it into a hell dimension to suffer eternal torment. The only way Buffy could save the world was to send Angel, soul just restored by Willow, into hell instead. Just prior to killing Angel, Buffy had walked out on her mother after landing her with the news that she was a Vampire Slayer. She felt she couldn't go home, so she took off for LA, where she found a room and a temporary job as a waitress. Wanting to hide and just be someone else for a while, she called herself Anne, her middle name. And then one day she walked into the diner and came out in a diner in a very different place. Update: Buffy found herself back in LA shortly after talking to Jack on the rooftop (not long after the party), and very quickly forgot all about her visit. After a couple of months, she went back home to Sunnydale, Angel returned from Hell, Angel left her for her own good and went to LA himself, Buffy left school and went to university in Sunnydale, Spike turned up again and got chipped by the Initiative, Buffy started dating Riley who turned out to be one of the Initiative soldiers, Buffy gained a new 14 year-old sister Dawn who was really a Key to open universes, Riley left Buffy because she didn't love him as much as he loved her, Buffy's Mom died, they nearly had to kill Dawn but Buffy sacrificed herself instead, Buffy spent a couple of months in Heaven, Buffy got brought back by Willow. Then a demon arrived who made everyone reveal their secrets by singing them and Buffy revealed to everyone that she wasn't actually glad to be alive. She'd preferred being dead and in Heaven. Then Giles decided to leave her for her own good too, to make her get on with living. In despair, Buffy turned to Spike. She'd just been making out with him rather passionately in a corner of the Bronze (the local nightclub) when she took a trip to the Ladies and... Found herself back in Whoville.
