| Brief History: Dean was four when a demon attack killed his mother, and his father's instruction to take care of his baby brother took deep root. While baby brother Sam left home to go to college, Dean dropped out of the few schools he tried attending, instead training with his father to hunt and destroy demons. When his father went missing, he stopped by Stanford to collect Sam, held his brother back when Sam's girlfriend was killed by the same demon that took their mother, and then hit the road together in search of their father, dispensing punishment to various supernatural nasties along the way. Not long after they finally tracked down their father, all three were driven off the road and ended up in hospital, where John Winchester traded his life with the demon in exchange for Dean's. Dean's still carrying guilt for that, and he and Sam fought a campaign to track down that demon and destroy it. Things went kind of pear shaped, Sam ended up dead, and Dean struck a deal with a crossroads demon to bring Sam back. Kicker is, he's traded in his soul - in a year's time, he's going to have to pay up. | ||
