Brief Personality: Sam tries very much to be the practical, skeptical, normal one. He has too much faith, and too much worry and too many attempts at responsibility for this to be really successful. | |
| Brief History: Sam was raised by his father and his older brother after his mother was killed when Sam was six months old. Sam did not realize that his mother was killed by a demon or that his father hunted them until he was eight. His father trained both him and his brother to hunt demons: when Sam turned eighteen though, he left and went to Stanford Law, over his father's objections. He didn't talk to his family for years. He met Jessica Moore, fell head over heels for her and lived with her. It was his last year at Stanford when Dean came to get Sam- their father was missing. While Sam and Dean were away Jessica was killed by the same thing that killed Sam's mother. Sam had had dreams of it happening for weeks.
With his apartment burned out, his girlfriend dead, and the painful urge to protect it from happening to anyone else, Sam left with Dean to go hunting. They spent almost a year searching for their father and killing the demons, monsters, and ghosts only to meet up with their father, John as well as the demon who had killed Jessica and Mary, Sam and Dean's mother. The demon basically beat the shit out of them, then, literally, ran them over with a mack truck. Dean went into a coma and their father traded his life and a weapon that could kill the demon for Dean's life. Sam and Dean went back to hunting and Sam eventually found out that John had told Dean that Sam's premonitions were symptomatic of children like him: Special children to the demon. Sam and Dean had just investigated a haunting a hotel; the little girl was no longer going to harm anyone. And Sam finally got his cast off after 8 weeks. He was just leaving the clinic's back to meet Dean in the waiting room when he walked into this. |
