Brief Personality: Gwen Cooper was once a very empathic young woman. She felt for just about everyone. The Year the Never Was changed all that. Feeling abandoned by Jack, she grew to be cold and angry. After watching Rhys be slaughtered by Toclafane, she has become almost obsessively protective of her team. | |
| Brief History: When Jack died, Gwen waited for him to come back. When Jack left, Gwen waited for him to come back. She waited and waited. Until the tip for them to go to the Himalayas. Rhys had told her not to go but she couldn't leave the team. She had kissed him and apologized before heading out. The trip was hard on the team, Tosh had fallen and Owen had gotten sick. But they had gotten through it. Enough to realize that they had been played.
They returned to Cardiff just in time for the first wave of the Toclafane attacks. Gwen had raced home to get Rhys but arrived just in time to see him die. If it wasn't for Owen following her there, she would have screamed and been spotted. He forced her away from the flat and let her yell at him for it. Then, Gwen made with the process of moving on. She wouldn't talk about it to anyone. She just insisted that they continue their jobs. But what could they do? The world was under attack. They begun the process of moving the Hub deeper underground, sheltering people from the Toclafane. It was during a nighttime run that they lost Tosh to the Toclafane. Gwen soon stopped sleeping, claiming she needed to be more aware but it was more the guilt of Tosh's death that caused it. It was only due to Owen and Ianto's urging that she ate. And it had only been three months. She wasn't sure she'd last much longer. |
