The Rani was bored, there were only so many planets you could enslave before it began to get boring. She's spent the last few hundred years doing just that before things had gone a little wrong and she'd not got away quite fast enough. Still only one regeneration in a little under ()) years was a very impressive record for a Time Lady.
Things had been different since the regeneration though, while she still loved her science it didn't fill her life quite as much as it once had, and for the firts time ever she found herself missing Gallifrey, something she was barely able to admit to herself. However being the kind of woman she was she wasn't going to dwell on that, the place was dead, and all those stuffy Time Lords dead with it, it was good thing, it made her special, unique. Well that was what she was telling herself at least.
It was time for a little adventure, she decided and thus she did something she'd never done in her long life before- closed her eyes and programmed in a set of co-ordinates completely at random. Who knew, perhaps she'd find something that would finally excite her again.
With the Tardis landed she stepped outside and looked up at hotel in front of her. "I had better not be on Earth," she muttered, frowning to herself, it was such a dull place after all. |
"Hey, what's wrong with earth?" Donna protested, stepping up from the side and frowning at the Rani with an air of offense. |
"It's boring and most of the inhabitants are stupid," she replied, not really caring if she offended anyone. It was true after all, at least in her mind. |
"Yeah, so?" |
The Rani turned and looked at the woman incredulous, "So," she said slowly since the woman seemed to be a little slow, "I neither like boringness nor stupidity, so why in the name of Rassilon would I want to be on Earth?" |
"Don't know, why'd you come?" |
Yep definitely slow.
"I didn't intend to come here," she informed to her, speaking to her as if she were 'special.' "I decided to take a little risk, see where I ended up. I won't be doing that again." |
"So stop whining and have fun," Donna narrowed his eyes. |
"Fun?" she repeated, as it were an entirely foreign concept to her, "firstly if this is indeed Earth I very much doubt that's possible and secondly I don't want to fun, I have more important things to do." |
"So important you put your space ship on random?" |
"I wanted a surprise, a new place to explore." |
"And now you're stuck here." She sounded a little smug. |
The Rani raised an eyebrow at her, "and what makes you think I'm stuck here exactly? I have my ship, she still works so I'm fairly sure I can leave whenever I wish to do so." |
"Not as smart as you think you are then," Donna smirked. |
"And what exactly is that supposed to mean?" she enquired, really there nothing that could stop the Rani getting and doing what she wanted, well apart from the Doctor that was. |
"Try to leave," Donna smiled sweetly. |
"Oh I will don't worry about that." |
"Okay," she smirked. |
"You think I can't do it don't you?" she asked, clearly annoyed that her abilities were in question. "Well you're sadly wrong." |
"We'll see." Pause. "I mean. You can and all. Just. best luck trying." |
The Rani looked at her in confusion, she'd been making a big deal about her not being able to leave, when she could. Humans really did make no sense at all.
"I think I'll take a little look around actually, I'm getting the oddest feeling. You wouldn't happen to know...no never mind. Excuse me." |
"You're excused," Donna waved her off imperiously. |
