 Sally really wasn't sure she should be here. As she briefly scanned the room, she couldn't see anyone she recognised just yet. But then she hadn't really met many people since she'd arrived, and a party was probably just the place for that. She could always sneak back to her room and bury her head in one of her books if it didn't work out.
She spotted a bar across the room, and began to wander towards it, looking around and smiling at anyone whose eye she caught. |
 The Doctor was also wandering over to the bar. Time to try some fruity new drink. Possibly of a strawberry variety, for a change?
He caught the eye of young woman he didn't know heading this way. "What's your drink of choice, mademoiselle?" he asked her. |
| Sally did a double take, because something about this man was very familiar, and he was the first person she'd met here who was at all familiar. She still couldn't quite place him though.
"Oh, er..." She couldn't possibly drink beer. She was wearing a dress. She had no idea why that meant she couldn't drink beer, but it just did. "A white wine please. And... have we met before?" |
| The Doctor got her a glass of wine. "You may have met a me from another universe. There's a few of them around. Or have met later in my timeline. I've not met you, I'm sure. I'm the Doctor. And you are?" |
| "Oh." That made the pieces fall into place, though it took a moment of her standing there oblivious to the fact that he was holding out a glass to her before she came to her senses a bit and took it. "Thanks. I'm Sally. Sally Sparrow. Nice to meet you." |
| "Nice to me you to, Sally Sparrow." He grinned at her. "Oh, what?" |
| At that smile she let out the breath she'd been half holding. This whole place suddenly made her want to laugh out loud for the strangeness of the situations it presented. "Long story. Which may or may not have involved you. Are you a time-traveller by any chance?" |
| "I certainly am." He order his own drink. |
